Horrendous trade proposal. The giants are never attaching webb to adames just to get rid of him, for meh prospects in return. Every team in the league (practically) would take on adames's contract to get to webb, if this was all it cost.

I think if the Giants are trading Webb they want a better prospect than Lodsie. Also Giants should be wanting to target pitchers younger than Ritchie—their window for competing is 2029 so this wastes quite a few controllable years of his. Lastly, Giants have zero need for a 35yo reliever, I get they could flip him to another team but ultimately Giants could get more from another team for Webb. With that said, I don’t mind guys like Ritchie if the Giants can develop and trade him by the 2027 deadline.

Webb has been one of the better pitchers in the league the last 5 years. It will take a #1 prospect and a lot of upper, mid tier and tail end prospects to even get posey to bat an eye at this. As I've said before, they will offload Devers, and Chapman before Adames. Adames would require someone to give up a few top 5 prospects as well. Plus the values haven't been updated in a while on this website

Not a realistic trade at all. Webby will never be traded. Plus no one is willing to take on the Adames contract and the Giants don't need another 2B person with all the prospects in their minor league system. What a joke lol

If Webb were to get traded he's not getting attached to a negative contract to lower his price. He'd be dealt alone for the best possible package. I also don't think the Braves would be interested in Adames

This illustrates perhaps the worst part of the trade simulator - and not at the fault of the developers, more how some fans choose to use it. There is absolutely NO reason why the giants would package webb (a fantastic pitcher and clearly positive asset) with Adames (overpaid and depreciating as an asset). Fans look at the negative value and add them together so they can get away with giving up relatively bad prospects, and pat themselves on the back for how clever they are. Teams don't operate like this during a sell. If they trade webb (and I don't think they will), it would be for a haul of higher end prospects, independent of whatever they have to eat to get rid of adames and his contract.
